Thanked: 398No I'm in Canada. The razor was originally honed using a Norton 4k/8k setup. The edge felt fine that way and shaved very well.
After stropping it cuts hair but does not pass the HHT. I haven't shaved with it.

Thanked: 286I no people have mixed feelings about hht but i always find after stropping only if it passes a hht it normally shaves well and if i shave my arm or leg if it shaves dry realy easy normally ok. also i do tpt on all my finger tips as my thumb tends to get worn out most times. just keep going bbw and then yellow water strop untill you can get hht using thicker hair like chest hair . might also be a good thing to send it out to have it looked at if it was me i would'nt let it beat me and i'd keep at it. I never hone with tape never have do you think that could be the problem maybe take the tape of put black marker along the egde and hone untill its all gone you find there will be a bit of marker at the very edge this double bevel caused by one layer of tape. at least when that is removed you will no the bevel is set for sure then do the rest of the method that might work change the angle .

Thanked: 398When I use tape, I use tape all the way through my honing process. I just noticed something just now. Is it normal that the blade will cut arm hair really easy on one side of the blade but not so much on the other when I flipt the razor over?
Could it be that the bevel isn't set so that they don't meet perfectly??

Thanked: 286when you shave arm hair are you shaving down towards your hand if so that would be wtg i always find if i turn razor to shave oposite way it does'nt shave as well up the arm if that is not the case i'm not sure but it mean the bevels don't quite meet you could always just hone that side on its own so it can catch up.

Thanked: 398I think I finally got it! The razor passed the HHT with ease. Now to the shave...I'll keep you guys posted.
By the way I went back to the belgian blue and did loads of passes on that one. They're natural stones so every stone reacts differently. I hope I got mine figured out now :P
