Same here. But then I also think that most factory edges would qualify as "shave ready", so my judgement in this area is somewhat suspect...

My, oh my, is this an apt and timely topic: I worked on a razor last night that had a bit of a warp, thought I got everything straight and sharp, and ran into the same issues this morning as Isaac reported. It makes me think I need to return to square one and also makes me wonder if I will ever progress from that place. This is not unlike the Monopoly mischance of having to Go to Jail - Go Dirctly to Jail, but on some sort of endless loop, Moebiusopoly maybe?

I think I need to attend an Upper Midwest Shaving Society group get together and see if I can learn a thing or two. Three maybe.

I just wanted to update everyone so to speak.

I have had many posts about not being able to shave every other day due to irritation and lack of a decent shave all together.

Well today i had 42 hrs of growth and decided I wanted to try out two of the blades that I honed as mentioned above. I was actually shocked. These blades are sharp. They whisked the hair away in two passes. I actually felt like I knew what I was doing and actually used two different blades in one shave like many of the honers post in their SOTD. Of course I never really go for BBS, due to fear of ingrowns and other problems, but it showed me im moving in the right direction. Im definitely still refining my technique and will be trying to do less strokes. Fortunately i have about 12 other blades I need to rehone.

I am quite happy that I was able to put a very nice edge on these blades. Im really BBS when feeling my face on a downward stroke.

    As always..thank you SRP
