But, I am still puzzled what that 4+++ mean? Can it be related to the speed of the stone? Mine is quite soft. I can easily scratch the surface with my very soft thumb-nail.

You are correct, they really offer their Coticules at very sweet prices.

4+++ could mean anything. Maybe you could PM Rob, of Ardennes Coticule with your question. He's a member here, although not very active.
