Depends on the brand. From what I gather reading posts on the topic for a couple of years members suppose anywhere from 6k to 12k depending on the hone. Maybe others will be more definite... particularly if you let them know what the brand of the hone is.

I have one Shumate dry barber hone and it equals somewhat to Chinese 12K.

Only way to tell is someone should have exact hone then able to say approximate grit.
Usually they are around 8-10 k level.
    hope this helps.

If you are going to use that you should lap the hone flat and chamfer the edges to where the edge of the razor won't catch. Here is something in the SRP Wiki on lapping. If not you could chip your edges. The DMTXX is particularly good on tough barber hones (which is what that is)

They are extremely hard. If you have a DMT D8XX, it'll help, but still plan on working.
A D8C will take forever. I restored quite a few Barber Hone, it'd definitely a good work out....

Any idea of the grit of a "two line" Swaty?

    Hmmmm
I have 3 barber hones, and all three of them lapped with ease with my DMT 8c (320 grit). I had to keep the water going steadily because the DMT 8c loaded up so quickly.
