    Default Storing your hone

How do you store your hone? As of right now, I've been leaving it submerged in water under my bathroom counter. Any thoughts/comments?

What kind of hone are you using? If it's a Norton 4k/8k, then storing it in water should be fine. Just be sure to change the water every once in a while or else it'll get slimy.

I store most of the ones I use fairly regularly on a heavy duty shelf in the open air.

They are a part of the family to be sure. The one on the bottom is my 8x3 olive green natural combo. Like glass. I hate to say it, I don't use it that much even though it's a superb polisher since I favor narrow hones.

I wouldn't store it in water...

Hey, Your in Lyndhurst. My Grandparents used to live there.....

P.S I store all my gear in my walk in closet. It's large and has mulitple shelves. I put low shelving on the floor, like you would use for shoes, two levels, which gives me three levels with the floor. I use that for all my hones, and I have a lot of hones. When I get an order in from Rob it really gets crowded.

Whatever I'm not using at any particular time is stored in a box on a shelve elsewhere.

I keep my Naniwa SS in the original box they came in, and all of the stones' are in a plastic tote along with my tape, magnifying devices and my electronic caliper.
