I had a Wagyu beef burger that was better than most cuts of beef tenderloin, but it depends on who's doing the cuttin.

I hope this is taken in the right spirit but after I finish my razor on my Nakayama Asagi I prefer not to use a stop on it, let alone Chrome it. I don't get an egressive edge on mine. Not everyone wants the same thing out of an edge. I have used DMT's,Shaptons, diamond pastes, diamond films, Chromium, and newspaper....hell I would have use dog crap if I thought it would give me a better edge. The feel and smoothness of the edge that I get from my J-Nat has been superior to any edge that I have ever used. I think it is just a personal thing!

Do I need a J-Nat...no but I don't need anything better than a Pakistani piece of steel either, but how dull would that be...OH! Sorry, pun not intended!

    Take Care,
    Richard

Again I am going to point out that comparing pastes is like comparing finish stones,, a ton of this is what works on your face...

Then it also depends on how you use the paste too...

What the paste is sitting on makes a difference...

I love the .25 diamond posts of the "Oh it is tooooooo harsh, yet they tried it on a Sheffield edge, off of a balsa strop, and I think to myself, "You Dummy" that don't work very well, yet this same cat will denigrate .25 diamond for 40 posts and it was him that used it wrong in the first place...

As to coming off any stone, you shouldn't NEED paste at all, but often it helps the feel of the edge to your face....

The correct use of paste can really bring an edge together, the incorrect use of paste can wreck an edge double quick....
Pretty much like everything else with this hobby
