I think part of the reason for the poor shave is the number of layers of tape. Even with that hone wear, you shouldn't need more than a couple of layers of tape.

At first glance I couldn't tell what was the spin and what was the blade. Good luck, I am sure it will turn out a good shaver.

K thanks I'll keep that in consideration, I'll be getting all new stones here in the near future 4000/8000 and a 12k. I know sending it out would ideal, but this razor is pretty bad and wouldn't want anyone to share my misery.

Besides I believe it to be an excellent learning tool.
