First successful Honing! :)
Well, picked this C-MON Wedgeway up off the bay for practically the cost of a premium coffee.
I started with a norton 1k then up through a 4 and 8k then went very light on a damp 8k for a final pass.
Finished up on a Thiers paddle strop (no paste cuz I don't have any).
1k medium pressure
25-30 circles
25-30 up/down
25-30 circles
25-30 x stroke
1k light pressure
25-30 circles heel first
25-30 up/down
25-30 circles
25-30 x stroke
45 or so up/down light pressure with no water (just damp)
Same process for the 4/8k switched it up a little but didn't take notes.
50 x strokes on a dry felt paddle strop
75 x strokes on the premium leather paddle strop.

Thanks guys. It does feel good. Helps I started with a wedge.
Not sure if it's not quite sharp enough or not. I just shaved with it and there was a little resistance (not much). I should mention I've been used to a 6/8 Dovo Flowing and this is smaller at 5/8 and a wedge and a square point.
Either way no cuts or burn so I guess it was successful. Lol
I'll hit with my swaty when it arrives next week.

Would you recommend 2 strips of electrical tape or 1? I used 2 but now I'm thinking it being a wedge, maybe only 1 would have given it a better edge?
Idk, probably over thinking it.

Thanked: 154Way to go, ZC! The proof is in the pudding as they say, so your "shave test" shows you did a great job of honing.
