Well my red imp just rained on my parade it wasn't a horror show, but she did feel more like she was scraping then the others and I had considerably more irritation then with the Stiz or my Biedermeier. Though, I have recently dabbled into the world of proraso in soap form and have considerably less experience with making lather with soaps then creams and I had a rather thin lather today. So tomorrow is my bevel's chance to redeem its self, though I think I may be back to the hones tomorrow with it at least I have two razors I honed myself that I am happy with!
Today I will be honing up my JA Henckels "cut well". I'm curious to see how this goes, because of all my razors this one is the most abused by far, but I got it for $5 bucks so I'm happy

Epd. I tried your 1k shave experiment and I have to say wow! I didn't really have much faith that I could do it, but I did! After setting a keen bevel on my Henckels, I stripped 100 laps on news paper then 100 on linen and 200 on leather. My face had nothing to shave at this time though, but I do have rather similar hair on my chest, and lots of it. So I lathered up a rather large piece of real estate on my right moob and did just one pass to near bbs.ill be going to my face today

im not sure manscaping will give you a real good sense of how an edge will preform, and try to limit your stropping to 50/50 to get a better sense of your honing skills
