    ok, im closer to the edge, using the darkside of thiscombi benchstone in holder from Shosui Takeda [last one he had in stock]so is there a thin layer of kamaji showing here [or watetsu; i say its kamaji] welded to thin yasuki ... or a swedish? place yer bets

    dammit i really wish the Naniwa Omura #1k i caught [used-but-still-with-stamps] at the same time as this razor, was here; its allegedly good with scratchedy and nice pre-Jnat; it was very affordable

    I'm going to hazard a guess that one of the previous owners honed it using western style honing strokes. We have all seen heavy toe wear on western razors before. It would only take a single wrong honing to produce that sort of wear at the end.

    im very familiar with my stones, razors not so much

    SO ANYWAY

    decided against the Takeda White #1200, its far too small to get a rhythm on

    gave it a few hundred on my longest noname 8x2" Jnat, got a bit of shine now

    next is a Kitayama #8k ..

    and, as if on cue, theres a Naniwa Omura in my hallway

    Grit #150, and small .. o well it was cheap

    i think its lost its place in this series, no closeup for IT

    Kitayama 8k is pretty much done, its just skating on it nownext up is on Sigma Power #10000 GC stone [dont ask me, i cant read the box, came from Stu at toolsfromjapan]stampsidetip againjust the tipdarling

    loads of scratches but looks shiny, and its bit my finger a little


    its not finished yet with the SigmaPower 10k GC tho

    and after this the SigmaPower 13k

    and i ditch the towel, only a few of those scratches are errant threads

    These razors scare me. Bought one once, looked at it palm Stropped it with some Vaseline and put it away somewhere. Rather use a bare SE Blade.

    Hah, I thought I was the only one who palm stropped my razors with petroleum jelly.
