I just let it sit in the bathtub with the wife while she's in there. I've found that doing this allows the concrete block to absorb some of the Aloe Vera from her soap and makes for a smoother bevel. Then it's on to the brick for a final polish. Weathered bricks are finer in grit, so I spend a lot of time stealing them from older homes in the neighborhood. For final stropping I use my mother-in-law's leather couch, but I only do it when she's not home.
So now I must know your after-shave routine. Do you use a balm or straight up Clubman?

My brick is natural, from Brickovenia. They don't make them anymore, the mine closed, and on Ebay they go for thousands when they show up, which is never. Lots of you think you have one, but the real ones aren't as red as yours. There are lots of fakes out there, tarted up with food coloring.

I just use the swarf from the concrete block. It's a great defoliator and a good deskinalator too.

Do you lap your brick prior to honing? I have a DMT -3000, will that work?
