No, I get you on that. I'm just explaining how I use it and why. As is often said, the shave test is the only definitive test. But along the way I'm watching these little signs and having expectations based on other successfully honed blades. Anyway, I've got some experimenting to do this weekend to try to isolate the problem. I'm not sure what happens after that though. LOL
