Who are the members living in Japan?

I havent been able to find much for straight razors here in japan, there is a cutlery shop in ginza i received my japanese style razor from. if you would like their details i have hook you up. they have a wonderful section of knifes also. they also have a few brushes, safety razors and misc male grooming products. there are also a few stores that have some shaving supplies(creams, aftershaves and safety razor blades. send me a message if you would like to know some into, cheers!

Two places I can suggest:

Yahoo Japan auctions - a bit hit or miss as the auctioneer's information isn't very clear and you will need to have it honed.

I've also seen one or two straight razors at an expensive men's fashion shop at Aoyama, but I didn't check the brand details nor the price (likely to be expensive):

However again you will need to have it honed.

I just moved back to the states in september. I loved living over there.

As far as places to go, i know in the Yokosuka area, there is a cutlery shop on Blue Street that always had various straights in stock.

I live part time in Osaka . As to razors look in Tokyo hands they carry some shaving products and some of the dept stirs have good soaps.

Sub-forum doesn't seem particularly active, but I'll add my name to the list nonetheless. I moved to Japan in the spring of 2000 to continue my martial arts studies. I live in central Tokyo between Ueno Park and Tokyo University, and have recently become interested in straight razors. There is bit more about me in my New Member Intro thread, HERE. I will hopefully be meeting up with Seth at some point as I am definitely in need of some guidance and mentoring in the world of straight razors.
