Who are the members living in Japan?
I know of a number of the other members who are living in Japan. But I am sure that there are more. I think it would be nice to know who you are and maybe some plus alpha info about your living here. If you frequent Japan on business trips I think that would count as well. Perhaps if we know enough members we could start various Japan exclusive activities.
Allow me to start.
I live near Tokyo and work in Tokyo (very close to Tokyo train station). I am a permanent resident and plan on living here for the long term. In total I have been here for 6 years. The first two were as a missionary. The third year I was here on a working holiday. And I moved back three years ago (year 4, 5 and 6). I know of a few spots in and around that carry shaving stuff, so if you are in need either PM me or email through the SRP system.
宜しくお願いします。笑う門に福来たる。

Good Idea!
I live and work in Hikari, Yamaguchi. I'm down on the east coast of western Japan, on the Seto Inland Sea (I actually have a nice ocean view...Lovely place). I'm pretty rural here, so there's no good shopping around, but the internet and mail order are lovely things...
I've been here for over 5 years now, all in a stretch. I got married about 2 and a half years ago, so I plan to stay for good. I'm applying for permanent residency next year, so fingers crossed.
I love Japan, though I do complain a bit. The TV is utter crap, for one thing...But yeah, it's a fantastic place to live.

Thanked: 735I'm no resident, but travel there on business a couple times a year.
I can't speak a lick of Japanese, even after having traveled back and forth for the past 8 years or so. Even weithout being able to understand Japanese, I can clearly tell that Japanese TV is indeed "utter crap"! It has about the quality and production value that most US based local cable access shows have.
The food is great, and so are the people.

Thanked: 8I am now living in Tokyo in Bunkyo-ku. I am working for Bunkyo Gaukin University and have a contract that will last until late March. I was here in Japan two years ago as an exchange student. I am pretty sure I am not going to become a lifer here, there are too many things that get to me. Although I am looking at grad schools here so who know...

I do not live in Japan, and although I live in a place that is very close to be a paradise, I wouldn't mind living there for a while...quite difficult now with 2 children, but who knows...!?

Btw I live in Tokyo, Itabashi and work in Seijyogakuenmae in an Italian Wine Store.
I looked for a straight razor in Tokyo but "nada" so I ordered on SRD and waiting for it.

ようこそ、竜の道 (I guessed at the kanji).
I'm still here, Zethlent was the last time we spoke, and there are a couple more lurking around.
I guarantee you, there are razors SOMEWHERE in Tokyo, but probably not any cheaper than you'd get them imported. Although yahoo auctions can be a decent place.
宜しくね!

I live in the southern suburbs of Tokyo near the Chuo Rinkan station on the Odakyu and Dentoshi lines. I work at the US Navy air base. I fly helos for the US Navy. Presently on patrol in the western Pacific.
I have been desperately looking for straights in Tokyo with zero luck. Can anyone turn me on to a particular store/cutlery/antique dealer that might help?
Thanks in advance!
