Here is a little update on this thread. I wanted to carry this Schrade for a few days; it has been sitting in a box for years. So I put it in my pocket & the weight/size is too much for the pocket.

I made this case out of some Veggie tanned bull belly leather I had left over from the machete case I made. I don't know how to tool yet, so it is plain Jane style. It's heavy duty though, very thick leather.

I need a new case for my Leatherman but it must have a cap to keep it from falling out.

Won't your Schrade be apt to come out with no cap?

Not easily,,, its hard to see , but I form fitted it by soaking the thick leather & forming it around the knife on a piece of board. I used staple to hold the form as I baked it at 112 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. The knife sits down deep , even with the exposed part. you can turn it upside down & shake it & it stays. Having 3 blades made it difficult to get a good mold & the leather is very thick.

Your Leatherman will mold easier with thinner leather.

Very nicely done! I like the plain Jane look. Tooling when done properly can be a nice addition, but IMHO there is much to be said for keeping it simple.
