Considering the Benchmade 940-2 that was recently unveiled. I have never owned a modern folder, always vintage PUMA and other vintage Sheffield and Solingen.

I had a vintage Puma Game Warden , given to me by grandfather, stolen from my locker, while I was showering.
    Just thought I'd share that.

Here is mine... about a year on my pocket now. It replaced my long-lived-beaten-to-juice swiss soldier, that gave up and jumped on a hydroelectric powerplant dam. I always liked Puma knives, but I wasn't confortable with the idea to put my universal taschenmesser on duty, so I got this one to beat and to let the pretty old universal at his confy velvet bed at home.
I like it, apparently is the same steel than my swiss ones, takes a good edge and the cartridge extractor is perfect to open beer bottles. It cuts, open bottles, have fancy Sambar scales, a blade lock and isn't too beefy.
Everyday means everyday. Two years later, and still in the pocket.

And I don't have nothing to complain about quality. Since it's made in Germany, and it's Puma, still seems as sturdy and reliable as my hunter's pal and pre-1966 white hunter. Ready for everything.

Several drops, hundreds of bottles, many opened packets, bait station workhorse, some ropes, meals and two surgical interventions (oh, damn treble hooks). The only thing it needed was re-gluing the hexagonal shield after a nasty drop on rocky floor.
Of course, the letters are fading, the blade had (or has? I'm pretty bad at this particular gramatical trick), met the coti some times, it collected some scratches, but developing character.

    It's my companion.

You MIGHT have swayed me away from a modern like the Benchmade BACK to a vintage PUMA again. I carried a PUMA Senior for years. You make a great case for a classic EDC.

I handled both a Benchmade 940 and 940-1 today at a local brick and mortar establishment today. So glad that I did before ordering a 940/940-2 online. I was not impressed. Back to the drawing board for a singular EDC knife.

I went looking for a 940 about two weeks ago. I liked it but not enough. I came home with a spyderco para2 instead. I've found it to be nice so far.

I am looking at Spyderco now too...... have my eye on two vintage PUMA jr's...1970 and 1976 birthdates. I almost got crazy and sold off a couple razors and brushes to snag a CRK Sebenza.

    Funny - I have a couple of SpiderCo's, and now I want a Benchmade.

This looks like a good deal on a flipper - never owned one though.
