Thanked: 416ok bruno no need to get insulting! the wife asked for my Gerber to pry open the air conditioning vents the other night and I was glad to hand her that cutter instead. I didn't say it was all I carry just handy.

Thanked: 0I'am a balisong (butterfly knife) nut. And I think someone mentioned earlier that butterfly knives are not practical... ouch that hurt!! lol.
The spyderfly is too big of a knife to carry anyway, but a good flipper.
I personally carry the Benchmade Morpho. Outstanding knife.

I know the feeling.
2 days ago I made my wife a seafood salad while we were chatting in the kitchen, using Japanese Kai Shun knife to do the cutting.
I put the knife down to do the washing up, and from the corner of my eye I see her take the knife in one hand and some plastic packaging in the other.
I grab her wrist with a look on my face that was pretty much
I stand there, holding her wrist, looking at her...
And she says 'What? I can't use that knife to open this thing?'Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

At the moment I'm a big fan of my Byrd Cara cara.
It was cheap, holds an edge like the devil and feels excellent in my hand. Plus it's just within the legal limits here in the NL.
I'd like a nicer one...but on the other hand this knife is excellent...and I'm not too worried about thrashing it. (Which I haven't so far but you never know what happends.)

Thanked: 2I have a large collection. I almost always carry a Lapu Lapu Corto.

And then I carry one of many something's smaller on my off hand side for use in "public". Don't want to worry anyone if I can avoid it.

I use the wave feature almost all the time. About the only time I don't use it is when I'm handing it to someone. Most of my jeans have the rear corner of the right pocket a little jacked up
The CQC-13 & 15 are nice looking knives. The Super Commander could easily be my next purchase.

I was just looking at the Emerson website. Their CQC-14 looks great. I could probably carry it around here. A "legal" length blade with a full size handle. I'm going to have to add that to my list.
Has anyone ever regualarly carried something like their La Griffe blades? I have a Bearclaw from CRKT, but its pretty bulky for wearing around the neck.

Thanked: 79I used to own an Emerson Commander, got one of the first ones. Technically, I still own it....it was stolen (disappeared from my gear when I went on emergency leave several years ago) I really miss that knife.
More often than not, these days I have a multitool (Leatherman wave/Buck Whitaker/SOG switchplier/CRKT Zillatool etc...) and or a folder, pretty much whatever I grab, most recently a Benchmade autostryker (I think that's what it's called) which was issued to me. Switchblades are neat, I guess, but honestly, I like the wave feature on the Emerson better. I've noticed he's licensed the feature to Spyderco for some of their models, as well...might be what it takes to get me to try one out.
