I've had it for a couple weeks now, and must confess, this is a really good tool!
The handles are made from Hard anodized Aluminium, so I suspect I will see some wear in the black coating eventually.
No biggie though, it is a user, not a safe queen.
The lock seems to be good on it, I've used it pretty hard at work, and no malfunction whatsoever.
As to the fabled edge they are said to come with, well, all I can say is that it is true.
Superb honing and the most perfect bevel I have ever seen.
I have one in all-titanium scales on the way too, those will not wear easilyBjoernar

Another one
Right, so this folding knife thingy seems to develop into another AD of sorts, it is fun
The latest addition is a Rick Hinderer XM-18, 3.5" in a Spanto grind.
I held off on this one for a good while, seeing as I find it extremely ugly, but in the end I went ahead and ordered one just to find out what all the hubbub is about.
So far I think it is a good tool, not the best I have for my use, but a good tool nonetheless.
And the beast is built like a tank, it is gonna take some doing to destroy this one

Thanked: 0I have one like this as well but the scales are stamped steel painted black with the same texture as yours - my grandfather had it with him in WWII. Also have one of the orange emergency knives like this but with the rope/strap cutting hook blade added that the military issues to some paratroopers and air crews.
My EDC knife is a Kershaw Ken Onion Leek Random :
I've been carrying this for about 2 years now and have had the edge touched up once at the factory and a few times at home. I have to say that their customer service is great - just dropped in and they took it in the back, touched up the edge and took it apart - re set the tension and cleaned it. Returned to me in about 10 minutes.

They also have a rockwell hardness averaged out at around 67 and the best mirror Polish that ever seen on a knife.
And a terribly high price tag. ... And yet i still want one.

I owned and carried one just like this -- a Sabre stockman -- for 41 years. I remember the day I bought it. It wasn't the only knife I ever carried, but I probably had it my my pocket 5000 or 6000 times. Two weeks ago I lost it -- and my wedding ring -- through a hole in my pocket. No kidding, I had the ring off because it wouldn't go on my ring finger anymore, I tried it on my little finger, and took it off because I was afraid it was going to slide off and get lost.
I sure do miss that knife.....
