    My EDC.

My girlfriend found this hiking; she had no idea who benchmade was and proceeded to try and throw the knife into trees for fun... When she showed it to me it had some chips in the edge and was very dull. Fixed the edge and now it's good to go.

Good of you to save that poor Presidio. Carried one (uncoated, plain edge) for many years. My first "premium" knife.

Did you tell her the MSRP of her throwing toy is $210?

Haha Yes, she was quite shocked and I promptly traded her my Kershaw Volt 2 for the Presidio.

WOW, this thread is huge. We are obviously a group that are very concerned about sharp steel objects.... Personally I now carry a Kershaw Blur. For years I carried multi blade folders, (family heirlooms for memory sake just like my first DE), but family members were showing me their Kershaws and attesting to how they love them, (different models), so I started looking at the different models and settled on this one because it is a bit bigger than the models they showed me. So far, I love it. It was sharp out of the box but I polished it a bit more. Started to play around with it and softly closed it against my thumb by accident, then the blood. Sure as s^&* it bit me with that little contact. That made me love it more and it seems to hold the edge through my abuse too.

Becoming one with the knife is always an experience. It builds respect and admiration.

My carry is still a 50/50 Endura Spyderco, but I sub out with a Benchmade 950 Osborne I found at work. Actually my buddy sitting next to me found it in a bag in some gear that was turned in, he leans over and says "I don't want it, do you"? I replied with " gee I guess I'll take it". The pocketclip was sprung a little and the edge was rolled, but otherwise looked brand new. I removed the clip and re-tensioned it and honed the edge and was in business.

I have a new one since I had it explained to me by a LE friend that in North Carolina a "spring-assisted" knife like the Benchmade I was carrying could be judged illegal if I ever had an issue. So I went smaller (3") Cold Steel Voyager and old fashioned, but strong and sharp.Name: Cold Steel.jpg
