Kershaw does make a lot of good assisted openers.

And if you would like one that will put a massive grin on your face each time you open it get one from their sub-division Zero Tolerance.

    Like the 300, 301 or 302.

    Talking

Finally got around to taking some pics of my ka-bars.

Im sure you can tell that i love these knives, why else would i have four if i didnt?

All are full tang and black carbon coated. But for more details rom left to right:
Short Black Ka-bar: Blade 5 1/4, Overall 9 1/4 Handle made out of Kraton G

Serrated Long Ka-bar: Blade 7, Overall 11 3/4. Handle made out of Kraton G

Straight Long Ka-bar: Blade 7, Overall 11 3/4. Handle made out of Kraton G
(If you look close you can see this is a pretty bet up knife. The Black on the blade is pretty much all burned off, it got used heavily last comping season for firewood chipping and coal stirring)

    Straight Long Ka-bar: Blade 7 , Overall 11 7/8. Stacked Leather Handle

I always get hit with the comment of "Why do you need more than one"?... My answer is, BECAUSE I can!

However, my wife is "right" to a point... you can only use one thing at a time... But I always like a backup...

Lol because the small one I use when snorkeling. And the two big ones are when I'm camping. One on the hip the other on my pack.

And the last one is just because I can lol.

I have a few knives which I have used for skinning, filleting, pocket folder for general use but lately I've had a hankering for one of these:

It's a traditional Finnish working knife called a Puukko. The nice thing about them is that, because of the grind, you can hone them like a razor. For a handmade knife the prices are pretty reasonable too.

I've had quite a few knives over the years, the vast majority small Sheffield slipjoints. I suppose the collection, if that's what it is, stands at about a dozen now, and most of those do get used from time to time, but I seldom carry one out of doors now.

I've made a few Scandinavian type knives from bought in blanks, but I have no real use for those, so restoring razors makes much more sense nowadays.

I collect knives (and lots of other things...!). Do I use them? Meh, some of them. I don't use every collectible knife, but if it strikes my eye, I will. I collect guns and generally shoot all of them. Folks think I'm crazy - but if you were to hand my a brand new in box, never fired revolver that belonged to Abraham Lincoln and say "well, he was going shooting the day after the, uh, play, so never got around to shooting this", I'd run right out and put a dozen rounds through it. Guns are made to shoot. Knives are made to be used, imho.

So even though I don't use all of my knives, I would.
