I might just be me who's allergic to power tools when if comes to sharpening.
It probably works fine!
i use a spyderco tri angle sharpmaker:D
Wow I'm surprised to be the lone Wicked Edge Knife Sharpener owner here!!! Amazing set up that allows me to have a repeatable bevel and sharpen both sides at the same time. It will hone up to 1600 grit and then I take it all the way to 0.0125 micron pasted balsa strops.:dropjaw:
I've honed everything from a 18" Machete to a Spyderco Ladybug. 10 degree's to 45 on a SOG battle axe.

I use a chestnut sharpening tool with inserts if the blade is really dull( makes knives sharp enough to shave arm hair easily) then go to a 1000 grit japanese water stone then a4000 to finish.
I have a lot of small wistling knifes and other working knives , but i recently pick up those 3 for 20 $ and im very happy - they are very hight quality blades Well only blades i mean ha ha a a
Very nice and they take an edge to a wicked , razor sharpness .
I carve some hard wood with the laminated blades and after 2 hours they were the same sharpness

Oh no, your not the alone WE user. Of course I have one and now my brother has one. We have the Gen 2 with the upgraded arms. I started with the EP but it just turned into too much work and mess when using water, then you have to protect your blades from getting scratched up by the swarf on the platen. Works very good though! WE, yea its the way to go by far. IMNSHO. Lots of adjustments you can make, tons of paddle options, why I've even have 4 sets of leather paddles going down to .025 micron diamond spray.
I use the same Arkansas stones that I use for razors to sharpen everything from kitchen knives to EDC. No muss no fuss.
Make that three. I have the sportsman pack? Same setup but clamps to a surface with a c clamp. Its a great system. You can simply get a good working edge at 600 grit or continue to sharpen and polish to 16k. You get an edge that can shave you clean if that's what you want and need. And because its very efficient, it takes the steel that it needs but nothing more. I've used the WorkSharp system as well but you can grind a knife down to a toothpick with it if you're not careful. And the WorkSharp has some design flaws that lead to misshaped, problem areas.
