A lot of the "bikers" in Toronto, seem to be the type that spend $50,000 on a Harley and have less than 500 km on them...and that's after 5 years...those types and the kids on those super-charged Japanese bikes who we read about here almost every weekend being killed or injured, just too much power and not enough experience. Just your saying jeans, leather etc., undoubtedly made a huge difference, lots I see around here have little to no protection on.

And as you say, experience and caution are everything, and yours served you well and that pic looks very nasty and painful...looks like it's a lot more than road rash as well. Is there any joint or bone damage?
No, luckily, no bone damages at this time but I am not going to sign any release forms until I see it in writing that if for some reason later on down the road, if I suffer from anything that the accident may have caused, that I am covered by the other guys insurance. It could be 10 years from now that it is proven I have a condition due to the accident, his insurance will pay for it!!! I already have metal in my back from having back surgery in the past.
