Hi Neal & welcome aboard. This is the place with a wealth of information plus many knowledgable members so just be patient, take your time & you will be reading a lot of good information for hours. Your most important tool you will need with a straight is a strop & knowing how to use one so if you go to the Beginners Guide in the Library here & then move on from there, you will be okay. It will show you how to strop & everything else. You can by the way, practice stropping with a dull knife or butter knife until you feel comfortable enough to use one w/o cutting a strop & dulling a good edge on a straight razor. Great to have you here so any questions, just ask.
Good luck my friend.

Thanks for the welcome and encouragement. I have no doubt I'll get it down. Just this early learning phase tends to give me fits. Had the same problem with the AC razors though so I know patience wins out. Now, where can I buy patience? lol

Thanked: 3795You sir, have the good fortune of living near the Honing Dude himself. Lynn, the founder of this forum and a heck of a nice guy who happens to know quite a bit
about razors and all related things, lives in St. Louis now. If you need help with anything, he's the guy to visit.
