Thanked: 1Ohio Newbie Here
Hey everybody. My name is Jake Smith and I am currently in the research phase of becoming a SR Shaver. I am reading up on razors and trying to figure out what's good and what's not.
At the moment I don't have a $100+ budget to get my first razor. But that's okay, wouldn't $100 on a razor until I knew what I wanted or should be looking for anyway.
I do do have a question though. I mean zero disrespect by asking, but I am brand new to this forum and straight razors. So the question is this, Is there any control protocols in place to prevent people from selling crap razors or duds in the classifieds?
Like I said, I'm brand new and I mean no disrespect, I just want to know if I can pretty much trust the classifieds to have at least decent razors.

Hi Jake... Ive never bought from the classified, but know you'll probably be safe buying from there. Ive been with the forum for almost a year and have heard nothing but happy customers.
By the way, what part of Ohio are you from. You may find one of us lives near you, and can give you help . Theres only around a dozen of us in this state. Im in the Akron area. You should post your location in your profile, that way you can be contacted for get togethers, meets or mentor help.
By the way...
Welcome to the best razor forum there is, hands down

Thanks for the i for! I know I have my grandpas strop around here somewhere. It was here when we moved in and if I can find it I think it would be really cool to use that. I had his straight razor here to at one point but no clue where that is either. I remember it was a yellow color and I think it was called a duck

Welcome Jake !It is my opinion that 99.9 percent of the razors depicted in the classifieds here will be accurately listed. All are members of the SRP forum and actually have a reputation to protect. That being said, I recommend you contact the seller via PM if you have any questions regarding a particular razor. It would also be helpful to have the knowledge to ask the right questions. Hi and welcome. The classifieds are full of razors from sr users that actually want it to go to a good home. Been round here a few years and never hear anything bad about transactions from the classifieds.
You are much safer buying from the classifieds where people describe accurately than the tons of shonky web sites around or ebayMy wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
