We actually have at least one meet per year in the area Russell

Hopefully you can make the next one, I promise that you will learn more in one day sitting across the table over Coffee or Beers then in Months of reading the forum and watching the Vids...

I hope to meet ya at the next one in Sept

Welcome from SE Washington State. Walla Walla in fact!

If I can be of any help please let me know!

As you've seemed to have already found, it's an older but better way of shaving.

Also as my friend Glen has pointed out that if you can make a meet you'll learn more in a few hours than you can by reading and watching videos for months! I speak from experience!

    Enjoy the ride,

It's a Long Strange Trip, but Well Worth the Journey

MattCB thanks for the link, its very generous to offer free admission for active duty and retired military that will cover the gas it takes me to get there haha

I'm a vet myself, just a way to pay it forward. Wish I had l known about wet shaving while I was in, would of been much more pleasant

I'm still active duty, it has really added a bit of enjoyment to my morning routine 😄. I have fairly sensitive skin so I couldn't push the cartridges for much longer than a week before they would chew my face up 😕 I'm super happy I decided to make the jump to wet shaving haha

    Warmest welcome, Russell.

'Not sure who's closest to Oak Harbor, but you can see there's a strong presence in that region. Frank Cernier (sp) is nearby & I understand he's doing well on the stones. Should your travels bring you down near Portland, hollar. 'Come by & try some gear, have some home made sourdough. 'Happy to provide honing or help w/ your honing.

I do recommend giving some time to using a pro-quality edge before honing, and some more time honing before getting into the resto work on the flea bag blades. It can save you alot of heartburn. You can guess how I'd come to that thought.

You've read that one of the meet-ups can do more in a few hours than months of study & practice. That's a pretty big statement. Its also true - not exaggeration. You'll do well at this & likely be cranky when you don't get to use a straight. I hope you have lots of fun at it.
