Thanks to all of you. Looks like this is a great group. I have a barber here in town I think can help me with getting my razors shave ready. I will also continue to read. Thanks again!

not many barbers know how to hone razors anymore,, and definantly not most knife sharpeners. if he can god for you,, but the advise t et a pro honed blade is one of the best pieces of advise you,ll get ,, cause your shaves wont get to where they should be without a shave ready edge,, and honing your own right now, really doesn't let you know because you don't have the experience to know yet. takes awhile to learn how to shave then you can tell if a blade is right good luck Tc

Welcome to the forum, lots of great folks and information.

As was said just go slow it is a learning process. And no pressure on the razor, if sharp it does it's job real well on it's own

Welcome to the forum. Not much else to offer from what has been mentioned. There are some good vid's out there too. Glen and Lynn have several that have helped me a lot.

    Hi Rick,

Welcome to the forum. As others have said having Lynn or Glenn hone a razor for you will make a HUGE difference for you. Once you know what it feels like to shave with a professionally honed razor, you'll have a standard with which to compare your honing. Good luck. Be advised, this can be a very addictive hobby ;-)
