    Strop is in a sorry condition and wouldn't bother with it. Razor has nice scales but decent hone wear and needs work on the heal to reveal the blade edge. Can easily be cleaned and made shave ready though.

    As right as eddy is, I'd buy that strop just for how cool it looks. Looks like it rolls the leather up in the handle. I think it'd be a neat travel strop with fresh leather in it.

    Thanks Eddie and Ken. I will think about the strop. Might be a good razor for me to learn honing and stroping on. There is another 1/2 inch razor there. How do you tell if they are good buys or not?

    Spine wear, uneven bevel and bevel width, warping, wear into stabalizer, rust and pitting etc

    Lots of things to watch out for, I'm still nowhere near an expert on judging old razors. My rule that works well for me is never pay more for an old razor than you're willing to lose if it turns out to be junk.
