It's great to see a young guy such as yourself taking interest in straight razor shaving. One thing to do right away is watch Lynn's video. You might be surprised on how many pointers that you pick up from it. Getting comfortable with a straight razor doesn't happen overnight. You'll find that studying and taking the time to learn is well worth the effort. Any questions just ask.
