Welcome to SRP!!!
A lot of great folks and info here, check out the library. You can get lost in there.....
The HHT is a good indicator of a "sharp" razor, but sharp doesn't always mean shave ready.
If you're finding a comfortable shave from the razor that's great.
As to pressure, just shave the lather off, no need to press the razor to your face. A good razor just wipes the whiskers off.
Enjoy and have fun!!!Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Thanked: 3Hi Dieseld,
Thanks for tip.
Since I have started out with 1 side of my face I am more worried about not cutting myself than comfort. Having said that I must admit that I am getting the beard off without much difficulty. I think the lessons I learnt from the transition process from cartridge to DE is actually helping me to use the blade's own weight to glide it down rather than to press it down. But to tell you the truth I was pretty surprised when I held the Dovo for the first time- I expected it to be much heavier. My next big concern is to hold and work my way with my non dormant hand! Scary!
Thanks.

No worries on the non-dominant hand. Just slow and easy my friend.
Some people just can't use that hand and learn with their dominant one. But I highly suggest trying to use both.
Glad to hear it's going well for you so farLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Aloha!
Welcome to SRP. It sounds like you are off to a great start. I have a friend that lives in Bangledesh, but he is not into wet shaving, so he will be of no help to you, unfortunately.
Enjoy the journey into straight razors.

Hht is not an indicator. Many of us have done the 1k challenge. Shaving with a razor that has had no more than the bevel set properly. You can get a good comfortable shave and it would pass tree topping and hht tests. We consider 8k truly shave ready so there is a big difference between shaving and shave ready.
