    Hello and welcome,
I have not seen geofatboy's videos but I have used Lynn Abram's videos, on his YouTube channel. Where I live, I had no one close by who could hone a razor so after messing it up I learned and these videos were a great help. I only used a Norton 4/8k for about a year or more before I bought other stones and he has good information on the use of these stones. My first blade was a Dovo "Best Quality" and I dulled my edge through poor stropping. I learned through the videos to get it back to sharp with just the 4/8k, and to strop correctly. Best of luck, go slow, have fun.

and hard to go by, say the wise. Katha Upanishad – 1.3.14

    Hi Vicmaldo,

Thanks for sharing your story. Nice to hear from someone who has been in the same situation as mine. I shall definitely get in touch with you when I start my honing routine.

    Thanks

As said check out Gssixgun videos on YouTube. He does a very good job of describing both what hes doing and why and the results. I have watched a lot of videos but found his best.
