Aloha!
Welcome to SRP. This is an amazing forum with awesome members that have incredible knowledge. I've been straight shaving for decades and still learn new things from this forum. I lurked here for a very long time before joining. Joined reluctantly as I'm not usually big on Forum participation, but it's been a great experience for me. Hope it is for you as well.
You need a quality strop. It's not an option, it's a necessary tool for straight razor shaving. Stropping is an art. Many a finely honed razor edge has been dulled by poor stropping technique, so watch the videos and read the posts and library info to make sure you are doing it right and not rolling your edge. It sounds like you got your blade professionally honed and shaved with it without stropping. This is a good thing in the beginning, so you know how a sharp blade feels against your skin and how it cuts your beard. This way you will have a benchmark on what a properly sharpened blade edge is supposed to feel like.
Enjoy the journey!
