Thanked: 3Welcome Matt!
As a new wet shaver I can strongly suggest you to store your piece in a dry condition. Moisture is the biggest enemy here. Believe me a nick or cut won't hurt as much as seeing a speck/rust on your prized piece.
Enjoy the forum!

Welcome to SRP. As the others said, be sure the razors are truly shave ready. A dull razor will pull your beard, and provide an all around uncomfortable experience. Most of what you need to know is covered in the SRP library. All members here are happy to answer any questions as best they can.

Thanked: 0Thanks,
I’m going to send the razors off to be sharpened and honed to shave readiness. I’ve found an online service in the UK who will do it.Matt

Welcome to SRP!!!
Can't add much to what's been said, but enjoy and have fun!!!
I'd personally look for a member in your area that hones, some services won't give you the quality edge you seek.Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Hello Matt, and welcome.
When Dovo writes shave ready on the box, it is just a factory or german shavereadiness. Quite rude. With a production of 80 000 pieces a year, they cannot afford to pay workors to hone each piece manually on different stones at least 20 minutes each. So it's done in 30 seconds ond a horizontally rotary stone.
Give them to a good honer in your vicinity, and after that you won't recognize your razors for the next shaves.
