Thanked: 556Welcome to SRP. You seem to be well kitted out.
That sandalwood shaving cream is one of my favourites.
Consider having your razors honed by someone who knows what they are doing so you get a feel for what a good shaving edge feels like.
I learned to hone on my own using videos and advice from forums, but it would have been a much shorter journey if I had a mentor show me in person.David

Thanked: 2That's a great idea David! Unfortunately I only have one razor at the moment but I've been leaning towards buying a used razor... then I can send my main razor to someone to sharp en properly. How do I find who or where should I send it? Or even better where can I find how to properly search the forum!? I went to FAQ, general forum usage and sharpen your razor didn't bring out a match. Thanks.
P.S. Another question, is there a suggested order to read for newbies? I'm reading the library atm.

Thanked: 556I suggest you check out the section “Local Help”, although currently the closest folks to Sweden seem to be in Norway. There are several experienced honing mentors in Europe you might contact. Perhaps one will see this thread and contact you.
You have some good equipment and some experience honing knives. I suggest you check out the Frequently Asked Questions section on honing and the honing forum. Gssixgun (Glenn) has posted many instructional videos that I watch and rewatch when I run into a honing problem or simply want to fine tune my honing technique.
Getting a second (or third, fourth, etc) razor is a good idea. You want enough that you can maintain a rotation while your other blades are being tuned up. WARNING - RAD is a significant rabbit hole we have all fallen into - it’s difficult to stop at one or two additional razors.
There is A LOT of information on SRP and the search function, while useful, does not always get you exactly what you are looking for. Don’t be afraid to ask a question you think may have been answered already somewhere on the forum. Members are very generous and patient and someone will either answer the question or direct you to where an answer can be found.
ENjoy the journey and welcome to the club.David

Hi there PhoenX,
Welcome to SRP.
I agree with DZEC that you would definitely benefit from a couple of vintage razors and I also agree that it often doesn't stop at a couple. Some here have well over a hundred. Have a look at Buy, Sell , Trade. You will almost certainly find something great there and you know it will be well honed and clean.
As far as honing goes, I'm sure you have already been advised but it is really difficult to sharpen your own razor until you know what it feels like to shave with a truly sharp blade as a comparison, so it is really worth getting at least one razor sharpened for you.
