Hi everyone,

I picked up a straight razor last year, after disgusting Gillette's toxic masculinity commercial. I used to be a Gillette user since I shaved for the first time but for obvious reasons about their message I wanted a change and so I picked up a straight razor (Dovo).

I am here to learn and possibly contribute in time.

Greetings and welcome. I think you'll find that there are answers here already for most of the questions you might have but if you don't find what you are looking for or want clarification on something you can always ask. There are lots of helpful people here to speed you along. Make sure to check out the beginner's section for useful information and also the shave library. That should give you a good starting place. Have fun and take your time. There is a lot to learn but it is well worth it. We have discovered something amazing here. We take a daily doldrum and turn it into a fun hobby. It's ingenious! Stick with it and it gets better as you go.

Welcome to the forum. Where did you get your Dovo from. Dovo thinks of them as shave ready but often they are not. The very good retailers hand hone them to shave ready. There are a lot that simply sell them with the factory edge. I hope you enjoy the journey.
