Thanked: 0INTRODUCTION
I am a new member and I am interested in getting information on the history of a razor I inherited from my father. He procured it when he was stationed in England during the second World War. The only thing I know about it is the stamp on the shank. (J. Gibbins & Sons Sheffield ENG).
I would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Welcome to SRP. If you post a photo of the razor members can let you know if it is in a good enough condition to put back into service if that is your intention. If it is you should have it honed professionally before attempting to shave with it. Cool thing to have your father's razor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hi bwandy. Don't know the maker but likely its a good razor if its a Sheffield.
Any pics ???The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Welcome to SRP!
As others have said, give the wiki a good read as it's full of useful information that will help you on your way!
It's possible that the razor is not shave ready so you may need to have one of our resident experts hone it. Have a look in the classifieds for member services.
Could you post some pictures of your razor? That would be very helpful in identifying it...!
Welcome and have fun!
