Thread: Glad I found this place...

Hello all! I am recently new (again!) to the art of the 'straight' shave after about a 40 year break! I think my interest was rekindled mainly because in my 'old age', and the current state of affairs in this Great country, I have become extremely nostalgic for the good old days. That and unlike my 'working years' I have a lot of time on my hands ... LOL!

Back (Way Back!) in the service I used to use a fine old Dovo to shave. Wish I still had that razor...but, alas,like 'old loves' it's probably remembered as more beautiful than it actually was.

Anyway...I'm damn glad to have found this place. It sure seems to be source of great expertise and knowledge, and lots of friendly help....

Check out the wiki, there's a wealth of informantion, and don't hesitate to ask questions along the way. Oh, and that Dovo from-back-in-the-days of yours - you just might be able to come across a suitable replacement for it, and find it every bit as pretty as you remember. There's no lack of vintage straight razors

Like str8fencer says, there's no lack of vintage razors floating around. You may very well find a dovo that's comparable to your old one. At the very least, you'll definitely be able to purchase a new dovo should you want one.
