Default Homegrown 7 day razor rack.

Hi folks. I put together a stand for my modest little collection and figured I'd post the results for public comic relief.
I'm a fledgling SR user and a do it yourselfer at heart so I grabbed some plank pine from a crate at work and worked up a design that looked good to me and allowed for my straights, a badger brush (to be built later), and my dads old Gillette DE that I still use when I'm rushed in the morning.. Tried the straight when rushed,,,, won't do that again. Ouch.
I mounted some rare earth magnets behind the felt to keep everything tightly secured and went with a walnut stain to bring out the grain some.
I set the 'scale' offset to 8 degrees to mirror half a perfect bevel and like the way it turned out.
i have a Boker, W and B, TI, Genco, Ontario Cutlery, Lacroix, and gasp,,gold dollar in my rotation currently. The GD will be happily retired to the letter drawer when my SRP custom arrives...Cheers gents!

That looks pretty good. I like the magnets behind the felt. Also that the rack is shaped like razor scales.

Very nice. I always like to see some good woodwork. Making your stand enables you to be more self-sufficient. Great job!

BTW, does everyone stor their razors with the tang down/touching? For some reason I assumed everyone did it wedge end down. Just curious.

Thanks for all the kind words gents, I appreciate the critique.
As for tang down or up in the rack, I start with them up but flip them after use so I know which one I'm on in the rotation..

I was thinking of making a second version out of steel as well, I'd love to see pics of yours when complete..
    Cheers.
