That was so cool of you to post, Andrew! Here's a guy who makes masterpieces and dries his brush on THAT!
I am going to come up with a wonderful brush-holder thingy for you. I shall even send it to the Great White North , AND value it at ONE CANADIAN DOLLAR!

    I rest my case.

Ok, I'll be waiting for it. I'm sure it would make my wife happy. She hates this thing sitting on our bathroom counter.

I always say, hey that things hand made!!

Get yourself a chunk of soapstone - piece of cake! Sadly this was made to fit a couple of brushes I never use these days, so I need to make another bigger one.

Sorry Obie - this isn't really an improvised one, but I *really* didn't want to miss what will likely be my only ever chance to one-up Andrew on something brush-related!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

That's a nice stand Kris, and it just so happens I have a hunk of soap stone. May have to fashion something similar to what you've done.

Nice work. It reminds me of the magnifying glass stand Jeremy Renner uses in The Bourne Legacy. Thankfully my HJM (only brush) came with a little plastic drip stand, so that is what I'm using. I wish it was a little larger though.

I used these this summer when traveling,,, they come in different sizes,, rubber coated so they won't scratch your brushes & the straighten out to make for easy packing. Home Depot sells them.
