Thanked: 498Congratulations you've finally found a practical use for a Gerstner. Being a Toolmaker they were always a sign of a Craftsman. However once you got them home and started to load it up with your gear you realized these thin and shallow draws wont hold any of your measuring instrument cases. A constant P.I.A. Ive since retired mine to the basement and gone to Kennedy and Sears boxes. But as a Razor box its Aces.

That's a fantastic looking chest and a great restoration.
What a wonderful way to introduce folks into straight and d/e wet shaving.
If that doesn't raise some hackles and entice them, nothing will.

Thanks for the compliments guys, but there are some issues with the green felt installation. I can't cut a straight line to save my life.
The edges are a bit off on some trays.

The original mirror has super thin glass that most glass/mirror companies don't sell & thicker mirror won't fit the original frame.
So,,,, the company want a prime price for a new original mirror replacement.
That dang handle (original replacement ) cost $50.00 ,,, for what its made of a dang rip-off.

That is sweet! The cigar box insert is great. I've been try to noodle out how to fabricate something similar, but I think I'll hunt for a few of those.
