it would have to fit tight otherwise it would cool too fast or you would have to initially have it too hot to compensate for that. That's why most buy a modern scuttle which has a water jacket pretty much sealed or tight fitting around it. I know guys have come up with jar within a jar schemes that have worked. probably a field trip to Wally World is in order. You could probably find two pieces of ceramic or pottery that would work.

I don't know about the rest of you all, but I just want to give kudos for finding a way of introducing an open flame to the shaving ritual!

    Geezer likes this.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Default Perfect cheap scuttle!?

I have the classic edge scuttle and I think you will enjoy yours a lot when it comes. If you tell them you are a member here you will get a nice soap as well. GREAT IDEA!! I like that it brings two of my favorite things together. Fire and shaving Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357449000.367639.jpg

For two years or more I just used a large cappachino mug, worked great, now I bought a shaving scuttle from Robert Becker, I liked his stuff, made from molds instead of throwing mud on a wheel, therefore more affordable.

    It's blue by the way!!
