Thanked: 10Thanks for all of the input. From many of the suggestions I think I'm on the right track with the adjustments I'm already implementing.
I have a couple more green ones that I haven't decided on firing yet, but now I don't think I will because of the seed planted by L R Harner. I like the idea of making a closed form, and then shaping the scuttle from that. If it works the way I think it might then it should implement most of the ideas that have been offered.
I'll try to get one done this week, and if I like it I should be able to fire it and glaze it by early next week.
Thanks for the help.
Jerry

Thanked: 182cool then when you get done on the wheel you flip over and trim her out with handle and spout
cleaning up the rim so that it has a slight lip would be super easy
have to get someone to take some pics of the work as you go
i want a wheel bad but jsuts to bog down the little electric ones (loved the big kick wheel in the back the shop) but that was when i was making some big stuff

I'm curious if you need "beta testers"?
Blast one for me and I'll critique it. ;-)
( of course I'll throw some $$ your way)
I didn't read back thru all the posts.... What color choices if any? White is pretty cool!

Thanked: 10I haven't had the time to be able to make any new ones yet. I will try to get one made this week. I have been trying to get my head around how to shape the closed form into a double walled pot. I suspect that I will have to pierce the clay to let air out as I push the second wall in.
Maybe after I have a couple made I'll have someone shoot it as I make it. Not the first try for sure.

Thanked: 182dont thingk you will have to pierce the 2nd wall but if you do thats part the spout/ opening right
the inner closed part will havfe internal pressure and so will the outer hollow
but hey i have not made something like this in years

Thanked: 3The one pictured looks great.
If you have any prototypes available I'd definitely help you get less cluttered.

Thanked: 13Thats a nice scuttle !
I need a new one at work and would be very interested in purchasing one from you. I would rather buy one from a member here than from the supply company. If you PM me we can work out the details.
