Get inventive. I could see you getting another bowl shaped container that is an inch or two larger than your scuttle. Lay a piece of plastic wrap in it and mould it to the inside shape of the big bowl.
Now take you nice scuttle and tape the handle over so the handle is sealed tight. Now wet the scuttle and put plastic wrap over it letting the loose end hang in the opening.

Take a can of spray foam insulation and half fill the big bowl. gently push your scuddle down into the bowl but not to the bottom.
use the spray nozzle on the foam to fill in where you need it.
Don't cover the handle, you will need to seperate the 3 pieces after it is hard.

problem solved? keep the foam mold put up until you are ready to shave.
Put hot water in you scuttle and set it in the mold to preheat, after it pre heats dump the water out and refill the tank back up with burn you hot water whip up you lather and set it back on the mold to keep it hot.
Let us know how that works out?
I have a great little double boiler method that works great, it's a little crock pot and a larger glazded bowl from SRD. You fill both with hot water, plug in the crock pot, and let your brush sit in it. I start building lather, and it stays quite warm throughout the shave. I usually unplug the crock at second pass. I was just looking for a replacement, because that little crock pot won't last forever....and the G5 isn't cutting it. Either I got a bum scuttle or some guys are telling tall tales around here. Here' s a pic of what I've been using...It's not very pretty, but it works great....You just have to know when to unplug it.
