    Default New GPS G5 Scuttle

Even though I've been at this a while, Scuttles are new to me. I've had my own system which consists of a little potpourri crock pot and one of SRD's old style "flower pot" looking scuttles, basically, a double boiler... It's always worked very well for me, you just have to know when to unplug the crock, or it will cook your lather...Anway, I got this new G5 from Georgetown Pottery.
It's a beauty, and is designed to really build lather. I find it a bit small for my liking. The lather does come up over the edge quite easily.
I cannot get the lather to stay warm, is there some kind of trick. I fill it with hot water from the tap, I even put hot water in mixing area and let it sit, and I do have the cork in, but the lather doesn't seem to stay very warm at all, and it seemed not to hold the heat at all. Am I doing something wrong, or did I get a bum Scuttle....?

How about Boiling Water....? Has anyone done that, or should I just pre heat the thing by submerging it in hot water...?
Jeez, I waited forever to get this........
