What type of latherer are you?
I originally was a bowl latherer, I then was got an amazing deal on a Dirty Bird Scuttle ($15) that I love, now I also enjoy face lathering, seems to take me half the time to get lather on my face.... Have you switched lathering methods since you started? Curious.

I like to load the brush and then build the lather on my face, insuring that every whisker gets plastered from every angle.

I build the lather on my face 90% of the time , I prefer to rather than using a bowl its quicker and sure does insure that every whisker gets the treatment

What type of latherer are you?
Gentlemen:
For years I lathered on my Hollywood face. Nowadays I love the art of creating luxurious lather in my lather bowl.
I must admit, I look as much forward to making lather as I do to shaving with the straight razor or the double edge. Well, the lather-making process is part of the colorful ritual of wet shaving.
I am greedy: I want the whole ritual.

Obie

it depends on what products i'm using.. i lather creams in a bowl... face lather soaps.. and any uber or superlathering gets done in a bowl or my new gardening scuttle... deep down i enjoy face lathering the most and always spend a few minutes massaging it in..

I have a thrift store scuttle I use. I like being able to whip up a nice bowl of lather (which took awhile to learn how to do properly) and have some extra to be able to easily apply for 2nd and 3rd passes.

That is a good question...I consider myself an "equal Opportunity" latherer .
I have recently enjoyed the art (and feel) of üerlather so much that I use a bowl to make this slick goo. I spend a good 2 minutes making it, but why let the bowl have all the fun? After all, am I not spending this energy and time so that "I" can enjoy it? So, I spend another 1-2 minutes lathering the goo in my face/beard...Ooooooohh, what a feeling!! Slick, moist, and warm lather...what a Zen-like feeling.
I have to admit, I enjoy the lather and pre-shave almost as much as the process of shaving itself . So, to me, that's an important part of the ritual. Enjoy it.

Depends on my mood but face lathering is very nice.
