If I'm using a straight, GTP G5 scuttle. If I'm pressed for time I use the DE, and a mug with some Ogalla Bay Rum/Sandalwood in it.

I like to bowl lather for almost all of my shaves but if I am in a little bit of a hurry I will face lather for those occasions.

I like to create lather in my shaving scuttle. Lather my face, then massage the lather in and let it sit for awhile. Rinse the lather off and apply some bay rum. Then relather and proceed to shave.

For me, it depends on what I'm using. For soaps, I'll facelather; for creams, I prefer a bowl.

Thanked: 983I'm a skin flinted old bushy, too tight or too lazy to spend money on fancy soaps or to use a bowl etc. I just squeeze a little cheap fauldings shave cream from the tube into my palm, pick it up on my cheaply acquired badger bristle brush and slap it on my face. 30 seconds work, before scraping it all off and flushing it down the sink.
