    Default update

    I realize they don't look much different yet but here they are after the first (bisque) firing. They aren't mud any more, and they didn't explode in the kiln (yay!). It takes about 8 hrs to gently go from room temp up to about 1800 degrees F. The next firing will be for the glaze and it takes longer as it goes up to about 2100 degrees F.

    Looking good,But it needs a lid,to keep the lather that much warmer.

    I hadn't really given any thought to putting a lid on as I hadn't seen any scuttles with lids but it might be a real good idea!

    i have a scuttle that holds 4 cups of water with a lid and a bowl deep enough to put my 24mm Thater brush in the lather and put the lid on it,and after i finish stropping ,i lift the lid off and man o man yous gots some very warm lather!!
