You'd really think I was nuts if you saw how I packaged it to keep the demons at USPS from destroying it along the way. I imagined every possible tragedy and nasty act of carelessness possible, then added extra layers of protection. I'm surprised Tim was able to get it open in one day

Never use Gorilla duct tape on one of those USPS 2Day boxes! From very recent experience, such a move appears to increase risk (and possibly inviting) a package handler to attempt a touchdown spike somewhere along the route.
Also, it is best to avoid shipping anything remotely fragile -- no matter how well you pack said fragile item -- during the peak of Christmas shipping season if you can possibly avoid doing so. Back at UPS in '92, I thought volume at Xmas was nuts (TVs, monitors, etc. falling 7+ feet). I suspect these days it's another order of magnitude chaotic -- i.e., 10x worse thanks due massive transition to Internet shopping and subsequent shipping deliveries over the past 25 years.
Sometimes packaging an item well just is not enough to ensure an intact delivery.Last edited by Speedster; 01-17-2019 at 03:53 PM. Reason: final note

just clear packing taper Brush was put in a toilet paper roll and then nicely protected from movement by small bubble wrap. I think that's the way I got it originally, which is what gave me the idea.

Still...Something about a toilet-paper roll....That finger up in there.
In the roll, that is.
I prefer 1/2 of a paper towel roll!

So you are one of those people that won't put the roll on the dispenser/roller when it is empty???
This was clean and well done. Looks like he cut the paper off to use the roll.
I work in a hospital and went into at least 6 C-Diff rooms today so I hope and think I have built up a little resistance.
In Junior High I built a model rocket using a toilet paper tube to show the snobs that you can have fun cheap and handy.
Does that mean I sent up a dirty bomb?
I didn't mean to get this thread off track and think that Harold did a wonderful job of packaging.

Harold always provides nice packaging.
