I drove to my classes today instead of taking the bus, so i wasn't (as) rushed and had the time to make something nicer than I normally have. Fried up a couple eggs, had a few slices of emental cheese, and two pieces of toast with goat cheese and raspberry jam, with a cup of black tea with milk and honey.

Couple of bacon sandwiches on sourdough bread, with fried cherry tomatoes and some alfalfa sprouts, and the last steeping of a 2008 Long Yun Hao ripe pu'erh session that started last night.

You guys have flung a craving on me as the late Jerry Clower used to say. I'm trying to figure out if I can use frozen shredded Ore Ida hashbrowns to make a duck fat fried rosti.

Default The advantages of living next door to a fjord and having good neighbors.

One of my neighbors had gotten more cod roe in last evenings catch than he and his wife manages to eat.
Lucky me, we are good friends so he dropped by. Cod roe fresh from the fjord is delicious so
I prepared it the way my Grandfather showed me some 40 years ago. And had a delicious brunch this morning.

Coffee. Rye bread with butter, cod roe and mayo. An egg. What a brunch.

Anyway, I too agree that breakfast is great! I like museli with fruit most mornings, porridge in winter, the occasional bacon and eggs.

My most favourite thing (and I think this stems from when I was a child) is to order a cooked breakfast the night before from the breakfast checkbox slip in motels. There's something about sitting on the bed and contemplating tomorrow's breakfast - what to have, when to have it arrive - that is a very joyful thing for me. And then the excitement of it arriving under a cheap plastic cloche with copious condensation on the interior.... bliss!

I tell ya jimbo, they must've....but oh what pictures they painted with those thoughts. I would kill to have a pantry like ol Bilbo.........minus those ravenous dwarves heh. I am with you on the planning of breakfast. I do that sometimes the night before, where I think about what I'm going to cook up. The anticipation of it all mmmmmm now ya done got me thinkin ha ha !

Now I love me some breakfast. In fact, I've been known to eat breakfast for dinner some times but during the week I don't normally bother with it. This is my standard breakfast Monday-Friday. Yeah, I'm a health fiend
