Thanked: 1160This is worth it merely for the fact that it's actually breakfast on a plane and not just a measly continental breakfast. I love that...ha ha continental breakfast, slang for stale donut n bad coffee how exotic NOT !! Hahahahaha !!!! Imagine how awesome flying on a passenger plane was in the forties n even fifties? Actual food with metal utensils. A stewardess in a sharp uniform with a nifty hat. A drink in hand and you could smoke yer brains out if ya wanted to. The seats were probably actually comfortable. Ahhhh flying the FRIENDLY SKIES.....(scratching record) Back to miserable reality....

Thanked: 1371I need breakfast. I have an inner beast that will kill people if not fed within a short time of waking up.
Breakfast for me usually consists of leftovers from the night before though. I hate breakfast foods. I don't like eggs, milk, cereal, oatmeal, or pancakes. I don't care for the breakfast sausages.
The only breakfast food I really like is bacon. I guess waffles are ok too, if smothered with enough syrup and cool-whip.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Thanked: 983I think you'll find that came down to several major wars, years of rationing and finding pleasure in the simplest things like Jam, real butter and bread. A knowledge and strong memory of hungry times I would say.
Everyone has breakfast, no matter what they say. Break Fast, the first thing you eat after hours of not eating whilst being asleep. So you don't eat as soon as you get up. That was the case for centuries when jobs had to be done to get the day under way. While the wife was getting the fire lit and food prepared, husband would be out tending to stock or outdoor tasks etc.
Just found this thread Steph so no picture, but this morning was kicked off with fruit and yoghurt. Strawberries, Blueberries and grapes topped with low fat, low sugar passionfruit yoghurt and a cup of Dilmah extra strong black (black) tea.

Thanked: 1160You make a good point on both subjects ,especially about finding pleasure in the simple things of life. Hadn't occurred to me that yes after so long a time rationing during wartime, it would make sense to savor those small things of which we take for granted.
And yes also....breakfast is what you make of it for better or worse.Come along inside,We'll see if tea and buns can make the world a betterplace.~TheWind in the Willow~
