a bit of help from the coffee snobs please
So I have had the same coffee pot for a few years now, I hate this coffee pot as every time I pour a cup of coffee about half a cup dribbles down the side of the pot, no matter how slow or fast I pour. So I am looking for recommendations for a new coffee maker. Preferably a drip pot. So any suggestions?

I have a Bunn Coffee Maker.
It makes a full pot in about 2 minutes or less.
LOVE IT

Thanked: 1184I use MR. coffee. It has an a timer on it you can set so the coffee is made when I get up. Been using one for 30+ years now. They do break down in time so I have had 3 of them. I have had one of those pots your talking about and found it drips all over only when it's at 12 cups full and you just have to pour the first cup slower. I went and bought a replacement pot and it was better. I have poured from other folks pots and found the same thing. For me the timer is the important part. I can sleep through earthquakes and live bands but the smell of coffee wakes this dead guy up right away.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Yea timer is essential since I always wake up to late to make the coffee so it is good that it basically makes itself. Especially since my gas station stopped giving me free coffee all the time lol

You want the best drip maker out there? Get a technovorm.

Clever dripper! Or even better Bonavita's porcelain version of it. I use that, an aeropress, or a Chemex (for when I need to make more than a cup). They take a little longer, but make great coffee. I roast my own & have tried quite a few brewers. Haven't tried a technovorm yet... on my list though

Thanked: 1184Okay this is where I back out quietly. I just realized I am not a coffee snob. I am more a coffee hound or addict. Roasting your own, and special machines with hi-tech names, porcelain? Sounds great to me but if I went there, I certainly wouldn't be able to down a cup of gas station joe. I am more a gallons per hour guy ;<0)

I do like the look of the technovorm just have to find it at a really good deal lol. I always like the ones like the Chemex but just don't really have the time for them, need something automatic. So probably looking at a bunn or maybe technovorm (as long as i can get the wife to approve)

The best coffee is made in a French press.
But you need automatic...

If you want a drip I would recommend a Bonavita. Think of a normal drip maker stripped of all of the non-essentials (timers, lights, built in grinders) and beefed up versions of all of the essentials (heating element, thermal carafe with a glass liner). I LOVE mine. It has also made me very popular at work since I grind my beans there as well. Little spendy, but well worth it IMO.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
